Depression and other mood disturbance
My experience with depression, bipolar, and other mood disorders is extensive. Whether you are experiencing low motivation, difficulty getting out of bed, too little or too much sleep, sadness, exhaustion, thoughts of self harm; or alternately inflated self-esteem, feeling on top of the world, and invincibility. I am here to offer support, guidance and movement toward stability.
Anxiety and trauma
Many people experience healthy levels of anxiety which keeps us going, alerts us to danger, and increases our performance. There are others of us that have anxiety and worry that slips just beyond our reach, impacts our ability to do things the way we want, and changes how we interact with others. This can come from one small event or even a larger more traumatic event. Let's find out where you are at and decide what we can do to reduce some of that discomfort.
Childhood Issues
As parents we generally worry about our kids. This worry can be exacerbated when we start noticing our kids behaving in a less than desirable way. Lots of terms get thrown around by teachers and other para-professionals like "ADHD," "Oppositional," "Asperger's." I have a passion for helping kiddos and their parents to reduce the stress and behavioral issues that come with the territory. Ask me more about my previous child treatment experience.
My Approach
Are you fully committed to making a change or are you not quite there yet? Are you more just curious of what a therapist can offer you? No matter where you are at today, I strongly believe my job is to go to that place with you and then walk together to your desired location. That location might include happiness, relief, stability, feeling "normal," feeling more in control, feeling better able to relate to your partner or family. The possibilities are endless. The only parameter is that it has to be what you want.

I borrow from many different therapeutic approaches. I will take from whichever is most appropriate to meet your needs. It might be CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and the like. Therapy modalities are much like therapists, one size does not fit all. My role is to find the one that feels best to you and we will do that together.
